Sunday Scaries Dives Into The Oscars

Oscars Sunday is a special day for cinema.  It's also a special day for me, because two years ago I spent Oscars Sunday in bed puking my guts out with Noro Virus. Fun stuff.  9/10 wouldn't recommend.  The other is a psychopath. 

 This year I tried to watch as many Oscar nominated films as I could.   As today rolls on I may try to squeeze in 1-2 more films, but at this point I feel comfortable making my Oscar picks.

Sadly the Habs picked up ANOTHER point last night.  When will it end!!!

LOSER Tonight and this afternoon will be an outright cluster&@$^.  I can't even begin to try to calculate who we are going to end up playing in the first round.  If we lose tonight it will be the Leafs, simple as that.  If we win and Boston loses their game to Washington then things will get interesting tomorrow night in the finale game of Ottawa vs Boston.  So basically win for drama and lose to play the Leafs.   My heart says lose and sweep the Leafs out in the first round for what would be revenge for every Saturday night game of my childhood living in Ontario.  My sensible self says win and end up playing an easier team seeded way lower than us.  It is going to be an interesting 40 hours ahead.  Oh, and if we draw the Sens in the first round I'd be all over some tickets, so kinda hoping for that too. Gametime is 7PM on CBC. Go Habs Go!

Why Are 'Fans' Dictating a Culture of Losing?

If you don't want this, you suck. The NHL has been floating the idea of a 24 team playoff format. Under the proposed format, there would be some sort of play-in tournament for what would serve as the "real playoffs."   When I heard this as a life long Habs fan I was ecstatic, finally for the first time in 3 years we are going to get some semblance of playoff hockey in Montreal.  This is the best news to come out of sports in months! And then I took to Twitter and came across a bunch of alleged Habs fans who have grown up without ever seeing a Stanley Cup parade posting wild takes.  Tweets on tweets about not wanting to make the playoffs because we somehow don't deserve it. Are you kidding me? We didn't make up Corna rules, Corna rules are THE RULES! As if whoever wins the Stanley Cup will need an asterisk.  Every organization is on an even playing field with this thing.  If some players don't want to isolate and follow the rules and organizations have to us...
